Geri-Fit Strength Training exercises
Geri-Fit® -- the First Workout with Weights for Older Adults with Francesca Fisher (DVD) - filmed in 1996 with floorwork was begun as a federal study at the Arlington Public Library in April of 2019. Weight training exercises for the elderly that increase mobility and improves arthritic conditions.
Since then the library continues to do strength and stretch exercises for residents of the community each Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 -10:00 in the library meeting room.
Wedneday Morning Coffee and Conversation- the library provides coffee each Wednesday morning for residents of the community from 8:30-9:30. Participants share good conversation and sometimes treats. The coffee time is open to the public.
Monthly Book Discussion Group A book discussion group is a forum where readers can come together and talk about books and the reading experience. The Arlington Public holds a monthly book discussion each month on the first Wednesday evening at 5:00. Discussion leaders Elaine Rosburg and Ellen Rule select a book and the library orders books through Silo interlibrary loan program.
