Regular Scheduled Programs at the Library for Adults

*Geri-Fit Strength Training exercises are starting back up January 9, 2023.  We will meet on Mondays and Thursdays at 9:30-10:15 in the library basement.

Geri-Fit is a strength training workout for older adults.  The Geri-Fit Lifestyle Change Program helps....

  • increase muscular strength
  • improve balance and coordination
  • boost motor skills and reaction time
  • enhance flexibility and gait
  • lessen arthritic conditions
  • manage chronic disease

There is no fee. There's no dancing, aerobics, or choreography to learn and you never have to get on the floor.  It is designed for older adults of all ages and fitness levels.....simply work out at your own pace!   For more information stop at the Front Desk or call 563-633-3495.

*Coffee-Social Hour will be held on Tuesdays.  Beverage and good conversation is on the menu.

*Card Night will begin on Thursdays from 6:00-9:00.  Check the website for updates.

*Bingo will resume for all ages soon.

*Monthly Book Discussion Group  A book discussion group is a forum where readers can come together and talk about books and the reading experience. The Arlington Public holds a monthly book discussion each month. 

November's book is "The Birds Sang a Sad Song" by David C. Craig.  Copies are available at the library.  Please pick up a copy and join our discussion group Tuesday, November 29, at 2:30 to talk about the book.  We had 11 members at our October discussion and would love to have you.

Book discussion groups build community. They offer opportunity for intelligent conversation and lead to deeper understanding of an author's work.  Members form life-long friendships.
